«Yaroslavl» Elkina A, papier-mache, tempera, Kholui

Miniature lacquer box with the views of one of the oldest Russian cities Yaroslavl. The box was made by professional artist, according to the traditional technique.

Such style of depicting can be often found in Kholui school. The artists paint little churches and buildings using tempera. The smallest details are painted with one hair brush.
