«Suzdal» Boris Kiryanov, papier-mâché, tempera, Kholui

Boris Kiryanov is one of the brightest representatives of the Kholui miniature school. The artist developed his own style, remaining faithful to the unchanged traditions of the Kholui painting technique. His works were marked by many connoisseurs and are in private collections in Russia and abroad.

The artist often paints cityscapes, depicting the famous places of Ancient Russia. On one side of the papier-mâché box the author depicted Suzdal, one of the oldest cities where you may see amazing architectural monuments and historical places. On the other side of the box, we see another historical place – the village of Danilovo, famous for its temple complexes. Also the artist depicted Kholui – center of lacquer miniature art.
