Lacquer box “Winter”, Parmenov, papier-mâché, oil, Fedoskino

Lacquer box “Winter” was created by professional artist who represents Fedoskino school. Russia is known for its winter and amazing landscapes full of snow. The artist managed to depict this period with beautiful snowdrifts and naked trees under the winter sunset. One of the distinctive features of Fedoskino items is the decorativeness. 

The village of Fedoskino is considered to be the first place in Russia where lacquer miniatures started to be produced. Inspired by easel painting, the artist of Fedoskino school created their own artistic language very close to the Realism. It is characterised by a detailed work on volumes and silhouettes.
