Lacquer box “Winter”, Kamanina A, papier-mâché, tempera, Palekh, 2018

This delicate work was made using tempera paints on varnished papier-mâché box of a small size. Usually, it takes a lot of time and skills to make such a detailed work on a small article, this what also makes it so valuable and exclusive. The Palekh miniatures usually represent characters from real life, fairy tales, bylinas and songs. The subject of this amazing box is a Russian troika.
