Russian folklore and plots from literary works usually become the main themes in lacquer miniature art. This amazing art work was created by professional artist from Kholui.

According to the traditional technique, the box was made of papier-mâché, painted with bright egg tempera paints and covered with several layers of natural lacquer. Brightness, gloss and depth of painting was achieved by a quality polishing of the box.
