The artist’s work has been deeply imbued with love to nature. He spent his childhood in the little town
of Repino, which is not far from Saint-Petersburg. The places, surrounded with splendid nature, lush
forests and picturesque landscapes, became an inspiration for the artist.

Ladoga Lake is a picturesque place in the Republic of Karelia. The artist chose a nice angle, so the
viewers can see calm water, forest along the shore, clouded sky.

The painting was made on canvas with the use of oil paint with broad and detailed brushstrokes at the
same time.
