Original ten pieces Matryoshka doll with the depiction of Russian amazing landscapes and life of peasants. The subject of the first one is Russian troika. It is a traditional harness driving combination, using three horses abreast, pulling a sleigh. This image is very symbolic for Russian art.

The doll was made of linden wood which keeps its shape for a long time. The design was made by very thin brushes, with the use of tempera and acrylic paint.

The art work was made in the old and well-known handicraft studio “Philipp”, based in St Petersburg. Their artists created their own recognizable style, keeping the old tradition of manufacturing at the same time. Our gallery personally selects the most unique and original art works made by their craftsmen.
