Delightful five pieces doll, all hand painted in tiny details. It has a depiction of Russian fairy tale “Scarlet flower”, written by Aksakov, an adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. A merchant’s daughter requests a scarlet flower when he returns from his travels, but the merchant picks a flower whose owner, a terrible beast, demands a price.

Artists used tempera and acrylic paint and covered it with several layers of lacquer after. The smallest details were made using one hair brush.

You can notice how much of delicate work and craftsmanship was spend during the creation of a certain piece. Artist from a little village of Hotkovo, in the Moscow region, are producing such kind of exclusive souvenirs.
