Handmade bright lacquer box, created by a talented artist from Kholui. The artists chose the episode from a famous fairy-tale «Ivan Tsarevich and the Grey Wolf». With the help of the Grey Wolf the main character finds the Fire-bird and the princess, kills all his enemies and becomes the ruler. Fire-bird can be found in many Russian fairy tales, as it is a magical symbol of light and sun.

The artistic language of the Kholui miniature painting goes back to the Old Russian painting. The stages of creating include priming of the box, painting with tempera and covering with lacquer. The art work is painted with the egg tempera, that brings the box bright and saturated colours. The smallest details are painted using one hair brush. As more details are shown on the box, as more valuable it is.
