Nail Galimov was born in the Republic of Tatarstan. He studied in St. Petersburg at the graphic arts faculty of the Herzen University. At the same time, he attended classes at the Academy of Arts as a volunteer. After training, the artist returns to Tatarstan, but the bright impression of St. Petersburg will remain with the author forever: even living far from the Northern capital, Nail continues to paint our city. Of course, this is not a full-scale city, recreated from fragments of personal memories, dreams, sketches.
Nail Galimov’s brush is marked by energy and attention to the details. The artist paints his canvases with a palette knife. This gives his works a pastiness (relief of a brushstroke). The cold colouring of the works, the combination of large spots of bright blue and white colours with fragments of red, brown, green create an atmosphere of rain freshness on the master’s canvases.
