In our collection there are masterpieces by Boris Chetkov that date back to 70-80 years of 20th century. The artist played a very important role in the history of Russian art. He is the founder of St. Petersburg’s movement of Fantastic Realism School of Vienna. The main trait of this school is the actualization of supernatural motifs that remind somehow the movement of surrealism. The artists of this movement adhere to the tradition of the old masters; in particular, they are inspired by the artists of Northern Renaissance.
The painters that work in Fantastic Realism bring up the eternal, timeless questions and take philosophical topics into deliberation. Their creative work has a deep mystic and religious nature.
Unique art work by Chetkov was exhibited in Japan, Australia, France, USA, Russia.
