Imperial St. Petersburg is glowing from the paintings by Alexey Rychkov. His canvases continue the tradition of Russian academic painting of the XXVIII and early XIX centuries, while showing the mightiness of Classism.
The artistic manner of the painter is not always the same. Sometimes canvases, distinguished by precise contours and a filigree elaboration of each detail are replaced by paintings that resemble enchanting sketches made impromptu.
However, all his works, even though they are different, are unified by the feeling of magic. All the canvases show the surrounding world as if passed through a magical haze.
The artist’s paintings are held in museums, personal collections and galleries of St. Petersburg, Moscow, Prague, Paris, Baku, Australia, Germany, China, Switzerland, USA.
